Corporate Ambassadors Conference 2008: November 22-23, 2008
Topic: Structuring Philanthropy for the Future of Egypt

Conference Figures: Ms. Judy Miller, Vice President of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and Director of the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, Ms. Nina Gardner, Director of Strategy International and senior advisor to two OECD programs (as well as being highly proactive with numerous other projects worldwide), and Ms. Freda Bass, Upstream Treasurer in Exxon Mobil Corporation. In addition, there will be a number of prominent figures from the Egyptian Government, Corporate world and Civil Society.
The Corporate Ambassadors Conference is part of the MENA Businesswomen’s Network program, organized by AWTAD in Egypt in cooperation with U.S. State Department's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and Vital Voices Global Partnership.
The conference gave a strong view about successful foundations in the US and how they changed the economic and social map of their countries and other countries as well. The conference also leveraged advocacy issues of encouraging philanthropy of large Egyptian corporations through advocating to the change of taxation laws, and allowing for the creation of major foundations under the NGO laws.
